Trust and safety
Last updated 8 October 2026.
Buying or selling a business involves sensitive information and real money. This page explains what we do to keep Dealdoor trustworthy, and what we do not do, so you can decide how much to rely on what you see.
Every listing is reviewed
New listings are checked by our team before they go live. We can approve a listing, send it back for changes, or refuse it. A listing that is later reported or found to be misleading can be edited, unpublished or removed.
What “Verified” means
A Verified profile means the seller completed our verification checks, which look at company details and supporting documents, and our team reviewed them.
It does not mean we have audited the business or its accounts. Figures on a listing are provided by the seller or broker. A “Broker-listed” label means a broker posted the listing; it is not a check on the financials.
Confidential information
Sellers choose what is shown publicly. Detailed information is shared in a private document room, and buyers can be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement before they see it. Documents are stored privately and are only available to the people they are shared with.
Reporting a problem
Every listing has a “Report this listing” link. Use it if a listing looks fake, is already sold, shows the wrong figures, is a duplicate, or breaks our rules. Our team reviews every report and can unpublish a listing while we look into it. We do not tell the seller who reported it.
For anything else, including a concern about a user or a message, use our contact page.
Do your own checks
Dealdoor is a marketplace that introduces buyers and sellers. We do not give legal, tax or financial advice and we are not a party to any sale. Before you commit to a purchase, check the business with an accountant and a solicitor and carry out your own due diligence.
- Never pay a deposit or fee to someone you have not been able to verify.
- Be cautious if you are pushed to move off Dealdoor quickly or to pay by an unusual method.
- Check company details on Companies House and ask for evidence behind the figures.
